KUALA LUMPUR - Amorphous
has been appointed to perform a
Strategic Information
System Plan (SISP) study for
Hospital Selayang.
Amorphous Health Informatics Consultant will conduct the
study and produce a final report to the management of
Hospital Selayang. The objective of the project is to
help the management of Hospital Selayang identify and
prioritise areas of opportunities and challenges
presented by managing an information system-based
hospital.
The SISP is based on the framework published by the
Malaysian Administrative Modernisation & Management
Planning Unit (MAMPU).
MAMPU has
called for a proper study and planning before any
government agencies proceed to invest on the development
or implementation of new information technologies.
Amorphous is the first company to adopt the MAMPU
framework in the context of healthcare operations.
Hospital
Selayang is the first high-tech hospital to be developed
by the Malaysian government. The 960 beds hospital is
designed and built to incorporate the latest in
information, communication & medical technologies. The
Total Hospital
Information System (THIS) that was went live in
1999 included the Hospital Information System (HIS),
Pictures Archiving & Communication System (PACS),
Administrative and Financial Systems.
The SISP study will help to identify and address the
issues faced by the users and management of the
THIS-equipped hospital. The SISP will also help to
outline the way forward in terms of IT and business
alignment for Hospital Selayang for the next 5 years.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 3 to 4
months
